New Willing to Invest 100 Million Dollars in India, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said huge opportunities exist in AI during meeting with PM Narendra Modi. After the roundtable which was done with 15 technology executives, Huang said, “This is India’s time”, referring to India as the rising global technology hotspot.
Huang pointed out that India ranked third on the list of startup economies and highlighted the importance of developing a strong and stable infrastructure for AL operations to meet the demands of new AI-based startups. But to help this new round of AI startups, the opposite is needed: to invest in fundamental technologies,” he said.
He had quite positive things to say about Modi’s enthusiasm about the AI form of tech, calling him an enthusiastic ‘student’ interested in determining how AI can affect Indian society and its economy. To elaborate Huang also emphasized that Nvidia has been chasing a strategy of partnering with different companies, startups, and educational institutions including the IITs.
Recalling that Nvidia cooperates with numerous startups, he explained the company is collaborating with IITs across India; every IIT has Nvidia AI Centre of Excellence, the purpose of which is to prepare students who will need some AI skills in the future.
The meeting had other top executives such as Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen, and IBM’s Arvind Krishna in attendance, everybody agreed with Modi that India has great potential to influence the development of AI. These views of Huang reflect a clear vision towards nurturing technology and talent in the country to further fuel the growth of the AI market in India.
