Salesforce to Hire 2,000 Sales Specialists to Accelerate AI Product Growth

Salesforce to Hire 2,000 AI Sales Specialists for Growth

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has revealed plans to hire 2,000 AI-focused salespeople to expand the company’s artificial intelligence product offerings. This move doubles the company’s original hiring target and aligns with its strategy to boost revenue through AI-driven solutions.

Speaking at a company event in San Francisco, Benioff highlighted the growing demand for generative AI tools and shared the impressive response to the hiring announcement, saying, “We already had 9,000 referrals for the 2,000 positions that we’ve opened up.”

Agentforce 2.0 Launching in February 2025

Salesforce also introduced Agentforce 2.0, its second-generation AI agent software. This new technology, launching in February 2025, will enable Salesforce to automate complex customer queries in applications like Slack by leveraging real-time, data-driven AI capabilities.

The company has seen significant improvements with its current AI help tools. According to Benioff, escalated queries to human agents have dropped from 10,000 to 5,000 weekly, showcasing the efficiency of AI-powered support.

Salesforce’s Renewed AI Focus

This announcement follows Salesforce’s earlier layoffs of 7,000 employees to streamline operations. The company’s current headcount stands at 72,682 as of January 2024. The hiring spree signals a clear focus on AI innovation, setting Salesforce apart in the competitive enterprise software market.

With rivals like Microsoft pushing AI tools, Salesforce is determined to lead the AI adoption race, providing businesses with scalable, intelligent solutions.
